IHI 35NX Steel Tracks: When the Shoe Count Throws Off the Search
A customer recently called in looking for replacement steel tracks for an IHI 35NX mini excavator.
The unusual part was the machine itself. Most mini excavators in this size range are running rubber tracks. This IHI 35NX, however, came set up with steel tracks, which made the replacement process a little less straightforward.
Then came the real curveball.
One side of the machine had 45 shoes. The other side had 43 shoes.
That kind of mismatch can throw off a steel track search fast. When the shoe count, link count, and guide measurements do not line up cleanly, it usually means the machine has had work done before, a track has been shortened, or the existing setup no longer reflects the correct original configuration.
