New Excavator Models and Strategic Investments Drive U.S. Sany Group Growth

SANY Group, a leading global manufacturer of construction machinery, has significantly expanded its presence in the United States over the past few years. This expansion includes the introduction of new equipment models tailored to the North American market and substantial investments in manufacturing and distribution infrastructure.

Introduction of New Excavator Models

In 2024, SANY launched five new small excavator models—the SY60C, SY75C, SY80U, SY95C, and SY135C—specifically developed for the European and North American markets. These models feature enhanced functionality and performance, with upgrades in hydraulic performance, operator comfort, and intelligent controls. The SY60C, for instance, is designed for durability in rough working conditions and offers improved operating efficiency and fuel savings. The SY95C is tailored for small- and mid-sized projects, bringing efficiency and power to the workforce. 

Expansion of U.S. Operations

To support its growing market share, SANY America has made significant investments in its U.S. operations:

Manufacturing Facility Expansion: In January 2020, SANY Group expanded its manufacturing floor by over 50,000 square feet at its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, to accommodate increasing demand for its equipment. 

New Operations Center: In November 2023, SANY America announced the development of a new operations center near Wilmington, North Carolina. The facility, located at the Industrial Realty Group’s 532,427-square-foot property, is expected to create 50 jobs and enhance SANY’s capabilities in the North American market. 

Financial Performance and Global Expansion

SANY Group ‘s global expansion efforts have yielded significant financial growth:

Overseas Revenue Growth: In 2023, SANY Heavy Industry reported that international business revenues reached RMB 43.3 billion (US$6.1 billion), marking an 18% year-on-year increase and accounting for nearly 60% of its main business revenues. 

Product Line Expansion: In 2021, SANY launched 128 new products for international markets, representing an 83% year-on-year growth, aiming to tap into a wider global market. 

These strategic initiatives underscore SANY’s commitment to establishing a strong foothold in the U.S. market and its dedication to providing advanced, reliable construction machinery tailored to the needs of North American customers.
