Takeuchi TB045 Steel Track Conversion: 400x73x72 Rubber Track Size
A recent Takeuchi TB045 steel track conversion showed exactly why careful fitment work still matters.
The customer called from North Carolina looking for a better answer than another set of torn rubber tracks. What made this one different was the machine was not running the more commonly expected 400×72.5x74N rubber track size. Instead, it had a 400x73x72 setup. For Steel Tracks BUY HERE

That meant we needed to work through it carefully.
We went back and forth by text message, checked measurements, and made sure we understood what was actually on the machine before moving ahead. Once the dimensions were confirmed, we matched the machine to the correct steel track setup and shipped the order to North Carolina.

Shipping took several days, but once the tracks arrived, the customer moved quickly. The rubber tracks came off and the steel tracks were installed right away.
So far, the machine has about five hours on the steel tracks. That was already enough for the customer to confirm that the tracks fit well and performed exactly as promised.
Just as important, there was no need to swap sprockets, rollers, or idlers. Everything fit the existing undercarriage correctly.
That is a strong outcome on a conversion like this. It keeps the install simpler, avoids extra parts costs, and gets the machine back to work faster.
For this customer, the result was straightforward: goodbye to ripped rubber tracks.
If you are running a Takeuchi TB045 and your machine has an unusual track size, do not assume the conversion cannot be done. Getting the measurements right at the start can make the difference between guessing and getting a setup that works the first time.
